Through physical interventions, Aaditi Joshi built site-specific installations that draw the relationship between materiality and ecological crisis to initiate dialogue about these issues and to look at materials in new ways. The work catalogues the emerging material and consumerist culture in our society and emphasizes the unsustainable work of our consumerist society that depletes natural resources and pollutes the planet to understand how this commodification epitomizes our contemporary society.

Investigating the long-term damage of mass-produced plastics and disposable items, including ubiquitous plastic shopping bags, Joshi has begun to look at these materials to understand the social fallout caused by them. The work questions customs and social decorum for the understanding of ecology and crisis, and how this affects personal, cultural, and social identities and relationships between humans and non-humans.

Joshi’s engaging artistic practice centres on assembling and transforming bags into enormous, site-specific works that compel viewers to interact unusually with everyday objects. Through her captivating aesthetic and visual transformations, she skillfully conveys the dual nature of the material, prompting visitors to consider its immense malleability and ecological impact. As an artist, she expertly showcases the material’s inherent beauty, leaving a lasting impression on those who experience her art. Joshi’s artwork skillfully encapsulates the physical and emotional complexities that one can experience throughout their life journey, by exploring the versatile characteristics of plastic and achieving a balance between malleability and elasticity, stiffness and vulnerability.

भौतिक हस्तक्षेपों के माध्यम से, अदिति जोशी ने एक स्थान -विशिष्ट हस्तक्षेप का निर्माण किया है जो भौतिकत्व और पर्यावरणात्मक संकट के सम्बन्धों के मुद्दों पर बातचीत प्रारम्भ करने और पदार्थों को नये तरीकों से देखने का प्रयास करने के लिए निर्मित किया है। उनकी कलाकृतियाँ समाज में उभरती हुई वस्तुवादी और उपभोक्तावादी संस्कृति को सूचीबद्ध करती हैं और हमें यह समझने में सहायता करती है कि हमारे उपभोक्तावादी समाज का अस्थायी कार्य किस तरह प्राकृतिक संसाधनों की कमी कर पृथ्वी को प्रदूषित करता है। इससे हमें यह समझना होगा कि इस वस्तुकरण से हमारे समकालीन समाज का सिद्धान्त कितना उल्टा-पुल्टा है।

बड़े पैमाने पर उत्पादित प्लास्टिक और डिस्पोजेबल वस्तुएँ, जिनमें व्यापक रूप से उपयोग किए जाने वाले सामान्य प्लास्टिक शॉपिंग बैग्स भी शामिल हैं, के लम्बे समय की हानियों की जांच करते हुए, जोशी ने इन सामग्रियों पर दृष्टि डालना शुरू किया है ताकि उनसे होने वाली सामाजिक क्षतियों को समझा जा सकें। यह काम पारिस्थितिकी और संकट के समझने के लिए सामाजिक रीति और सामाजिक अनुशासन पर प्रश्न करता है, और इस पर भी प्रश्न उठता है कि यह किस तरह व्यक्तिगत, सांस्कृतिक और सामाजिक पहचानों और मानव और गैर-मानवों के बीच संबंधों को प्रभावित करता है।

जोशी की मनोहर कलाकृतियाँ रचने की प्रथा, थैलियों को एकत्रित कर उन्हें विशाल, साइट-स्पेसिफिक कलाक्रुतीयों में परिवर्तित करके दर्शकों को आम वस्तुओं के साथ असामान्य रूप से संवाद करने के लिए प्रेरित करती हैं।अपने मोहक सौंदर्य-बोध और दृश्य रूपांतरणों के माध्यम से, वह प्रभावी सलीके से सामग्री की दोहरी प्रकृति को व्यक्त करती हैं, जिससे आगंतुकों को इसके विशाल परिवर्तनीयता और निसर्ग के प्रति प्रभाव प्रभाव को ध्यान में रखने के लिए प्रेरित किया जाता है। एक कलाकार के रूप में, वह सामग्री की स्वभाविक ख़ूबसूरती और नैसर्गिकता को विशेषज्ञता और निपुणता से प्रदर्शित करती हैं, यह उन लोगों को अविस्मरणीय रूप से प्रभावित करता है जो अदिति की कला का अनुभव करते हैं। प्लास्टिक की बहुमुखी विशेषताओं का अन्वेषण करके लचीलेपन और लोच, कठोरता और भेद्यता के बीच का सन्तुलन प्राप्त करके, जोशी की कलाकृति कुशलतापूर्वक भौतिक और भावनात्मक जटिलताओं को समाहित करती है जिसका अनुभव मनुष्य अपनी जीवन यात्रा में करते हैं।
