Offerings of the Earth and Sea is a 3D digitally printed resin sculpture which represents the form of an Indian deity, through usra roots, Jasmine, Tulsi, kataki, Lotus and vines among other associated offering-foliage. The installation, as a wholesome assemblage, allows the iconographical signs to hide within a biospheric growth. Hence, it overpowers the divinity and conditioned faith.

The iconography and diverse mythologies signify sustenance, creation, annihilation and multiplicity that in some or the other way relates to the ecological context of a particular deity. The inseparable context since the advent of scriptures hence derived a chain of semiological meanings.

The merger of ecology with divine being or bio-cultural with religious-political entity are primary factors towards the expressionist style of sculpture. The method weaves and dissolves the pre-exisiting identities into an abstract narrative. Withdrawing from the scriptural-ecological presence, Viraag informs us with the reformed portrait of spirituality, tracing a more-than-human concept and possibilities extant within the Indian philosophy and mysticism.

‘ऑफरिंग ऑफ द अर्थ ॲण्ड सी’ एक 3-डी डिजिटली प्रिंटेड रेज़िन की प्रतिमा है जो उसरा जड़ों, चमेली, तुलसी, कटकी, कुमुदिनी और बेलों के माध्यम से एक भारतीय देवता के रूप का प्रतिनिधित्व करती है। यह प्रतिष्ठापन, एक सम्पूर्ण समष्टि के रूप में, प्रतीकात्मक संकेतों को जीवसंचारित विकास के भीतर छुपने की अनुमति देता है। इसलिए, यह दैवत्व और पीढींदर पीढीं जुडी हुईं श्रध्दा की काबु में कर लेता है।

प्रतिमा-विधान और विविध पौराणिक कथाएँ पोषण, सृजन, विनाश और बहुलता को दर्शाती हैं जो किसी न किसी तरह एक विशिष्ट देवता के पर्यावरणात्मक सन्दर्भ से सम्बंधित होती है। शास्त्रों के आगमन के पश्चात इस अविभाज्य सन्दर्भ ने बहुरूपी अर्थों की एक श्रृंखला का निर्माण किया है।

निसर्ग का ईश्वरीय सत्ता के साथ या जैव-सांस्कृतिक का धार्मिक-राजनीतिक इकाई के साथ विलय, मूर्तिकला की अभिव्यक्तिवादी शैली के प्राथमिक कारक होते हैं। यह विधि पूर्व मौजूदा पहचानों को एक सार कथा में बुनती और विघटित करती है। शास्त्रीय-पारिस्थितिकी के अस्तित्व से विराग हमें आध्यात्मिकता के पुनःनिर्मित चित्र से मिलवाते हैं, जो भारतीय दर्शन और रहस्यवाद के भीतर मौजूद मानव-से-अधिक की अवधारणा और सम्भावनाओं का पता लगाता है।
